1) Powerbox Product Information

Q:

Hello have you started with the 2018 models modification ?

 

A:

I can now offer 2 different kits for the new Twizy models.

1. 1 controller + 1 Powerbox BT + a Powerbox Mini = 825 Euro

2. 1 controller + 1 Powerbox Mini = 650 Euro

 

A brief explanation of the difference between the 2 Power Boxes:

 

Powerbox BT has Bluetooth user interface and remote control. The configuration and tuning will then be done with an App.

The Powerbox Mini has no user interface and no remote control.

 

The Powerbox Mini is a very small unit that does not allow you to change anything. The only task it has is to monitor and make sure the car is working properly.

You can still make changes with a Mini but then only via the custom firmware and when you have finished the changes you have to upload the original Mini firmware.

(It is quite possible but a little more work then with a BT)

 

The actual power performances are the same on all Powerbox models.

2) Fan for Motor Heating

Q:

I bought a powerbox around six months ago and couldn't be happier. It's worth the expense. I do a 30km commute to work one way and can maintain an average of around 88km/h without the engine going over 100°C. I've gotten Twizy close to 105km/h on a flat road also. Twizy reacts instantly without delay on acceleration. Lots of torque to play with. Plus I save on brake pads by adjusting the regeneration.

Another idea I though about lately is the heating of the motor when user in sport mode for a while. I've fitted a fan to the under tray and manually activated it and helps alot. If the power box had a configurable output so it could activate a relay at a given temperature, that would be very handy.
