Hey YB, Yesterday you learned a song entirely by ear with no sheet music. If you have been completing your daily assignments, this was probably surprisingly easy for you. At this point, I hope you are beginning to realize the musical possibilities andfreedom this system offers us. I also hope that you are eager to learn more.  Before you began this course, you may have doubted your own ability to play what you hear in your head.  For today's lesson, I'm going to ask you to keep an open mind, and trust me.  If you have done the assignments leading up to this point, our task today will be less of a challenge than you might have previously thought.  Using the same backing track from Lesson 4, we are going to play some cool stuff... Together You will hear me play a short and simple phrase followed by a space. In the space, I want you to repeat back exactly what you heard me play. Same notes,  Same rhythms, Same articulation, nuance and feel. This is a game of call and response that I like to call Advanced Ear Training or AET. Here are the rules: I will play each phrase twice, leaving you a space to repeat each time so that you get 2 chances. I am only using notes from the same pentatonic scale that we have been playing all week. I'll keep things simple in today's lesson so you can get the hang of it.
